Never mind the bad French grammar! [changes subject] I started watching DBSK’s Mirotic concert two nights ago, yay. I had a pretty awful day that day and it turns out that DBSK still managed to make me smile. God I love them. Even though they’re just some Korean boy band and they amount to my lack of a life… they can really bring up my spirits when I feel pretty Gloomy.

Yes, like the Pokemon. Anyhow.
So I watched almost the first half of it, i.e. the first DVD, and here I am to comment on it this! This is going to be a big-ass review, so I’m doing it in small segments at a time, for your sake. xD This part contains my thoughts and GIF’s on the first three songs, “HEY! (Don’t bring me down)”, “Are you A Good girl?” and “Rising Sun”. Okay, here we go!
~~~~
So….IT’S FANTASTIC. OMG WHERE TO BEGIN.
Ah, by the way, the way the version I bought was the Korean 3DVD+Poster. REGION-FREE DISCS FTW! I watched it on ze Bluray Player for added quality enhancement. x3 Cuz the quality actually does kind of suck in some parts. At some points I feel like it’s just a TV version footage put on DVD. >=[ But some parts are crystal clear so I forgive SME for the spots of poor quality…
Intro + HEY! (Don’t bring me down)
I thought the opening sequence was pretty sweet. Underwaterness. Not really sure how it fits in, yet…. What exactly would a MIROTIC-themed concert be? …Sexy, that’s for sure. x3 Eh whatever, the underwater stuff is pretty cool. =] Like how the boys randomly pixellated into the ocean scenery, followed by an awesome robotic-voice introduction of them. Happily surprised that Jae was first, and shocked that Yunho wasn’t the last, then. Mistah leader. But he did get a longer intro sequence, sorta.
Anyway after that it was like urmg. I love, love LOVE HEY! (Don’t bring me down), and it was a pretty hawt opening sequence. Jeezus. From Yunho syncing to the synthesized “Break it down now!” bits. [His face. >w<]
To the crotch-grabbing… >O<
Still can’t believe my eyes. So pleased with that sequence. Except I don’t believe Isaw Jae do it!!! >=[ Lol I’m such a perv. But at least I saw Yunho, Micky and Changmin do it. xD And LOL AT CHANGMIN. HE IS ALWAYS SMILING SO GOOFILY AT ALL THE HAWT PARTS. He’s pretty much making the same smiley face the fangirls would be making. xD So cute, gah, he makes it harder to not squeal to death.
He has the right to be smilin’, but at his own crotch-grabbing dance? That just makes it harder for me not to. xD
Mmm, and Yunho bein’ all like “Don’t bring me down” and shakin’ his finger… Well if he’s going to be that sexily-reprimanding about it then maybe I will bring ‘em down. x3
The flying around on those weird thingies was pretty neat, and I enjoyed the lengthened techno-bit of the song while they took their places on stage. Then they really broke out into song. Once again, happily surprised to see Jae in the spotlight: the only one on center stage when the song began. <3 Damn his hair looks good. I wish he kept his hair sleek, wispy-short and brown. I’m not really digging his new pitch-black hair. He looked cool with slightly long black hair back in… ‘06? Around the time of the Banjun dramas. But his black hair now kind of makes him look older… Dx Anyway.
Can I just make a totally random point NOW, and get it over with? Their hair, all looked so fantastic during this show. Dx Yoochunny’s was the right length, right amount of wavy shagginess. Yunho had that sexy… [waves arms around] whatever going on, really complemented his facial structure and was sticky-outy in a nice way. Jae and his gorgeous brown locks, as always. <3 I am so in love with that haircut, I wish he kept it. ;__; Junsu and Changmin were alright, but at least Changmin’s hair wasn’t too long. Of all the members, Max and Micky are the ones that I really can’t stand to see with long hair, it just doesn’t suit them in my opinion. But yeah Junsu was adorable as always. His hair always seems to look right. x3 Nice work, stylists. xD
Anyway, nice little opening sequence and song. I was pleased with their performance of Hey! Don’t bring me down especially because they didn’t perform it that much on air and it didn’t get as much hype as other songs and singles from MIROTIC, that I need not mention. xP The choreography was hot and amazing. The way they came up on stage from raised platforms at various points on that gargantuan stage, and flew in to the center with Jae, that was pretty cool. I would be one excited dead fainted fangirl if I happened to be near one of those platforms and all of a sudden Micky or Yunho just arose from beneath the stage right before my eyes. @__@
The way they made it to the very front of the stage on that moving platform that even had a rotating platform within it - that was so impressive. They danced up on it, they walked around up on it.
If it were me, I’d be like Woody on that record player. xD
Anyway. Very cool intro. Loved Yunho’s charm especially, he really shined in this song. =] Stole the spotlight maybe even. xP
Are you A Good girl?
Moving right along into the next song, and another of my favorites! =D It had eally cool intro involving miscellaneous sound bytes from the song and then a video of Micky ‘using’ some really cool high-technology to select one of their songs from a holographic-seeming database. >w< Very cool. The technology and Micky. He looked cool-ly bored. x3 “Oh let’s see…. what to sing next, hm.” >w<
Is it sad that I immediately knew it was Are you a good girl? just by hearing the “du-du-dum dum” sound byte at the very beginning of this intro? xDD I seriously did. I saw the setlist before but didn’t remember what came next (Rising Sun? Are you a good girl?), and that little scat or whatever they do tipped me off. xD I’m becoming too much of a fangirl.
Anyway, so once the bored-looking Yoochun ( B] yeahh) in the video picked a song, screen went blank, and the synthesizers began~ =D Whee I got so excited.
It preceeded right into the song, and we find the boys in new, less baggy outfits on the front stage, still. Their individual opening verses were sung really well, plenty of charisma and each member had their own individual dance move to go with it. And Changmin is still smiling. Gah it’s so infectious. xD
Then they got into the hawt stuff again. More nether-region-grazing. >//<
Lemme just say this was quite the hot performance. A great follow-up to Hey! Don’t bring me down, it was a similarly-upbeat song accompanied by plenty of charm and sexy dancing. And at one point they didn’t even need sexy dancing to pull off the charm. They strutted down while Jae sang a verse [at this point do I even need to say he did it sexily? xD] and sat down on what turned out to be moving, breakaway bleachers [as seen a little later], crossing their legs and lookin’ all too cool.
[placeholder for GIF]
When a member had their own individual verse to sing, they got up from the bleachers, sang it, and sat back down. The rest of the members were just sitting. And it was so sexy. How do they make sitting SEXY?! They are sex gods. I swear. That’s the only explanation. SEX Gods of the East. >O< >//<
Ooh and then there was this one part where they all did kind of fluid, kind of robot dance moves while the synthesized “good girl….good girl” played. That was so cool. And then they got right back into the sexiness. xD Pelvic thrusts, fancy footwork, sexy swishing, and yeah.
All in all another good performance. Pretty decent choreography, there, they all got a chance to show off their charm and charisma when their individual verses came on, and their vocals were not lacking. Sexiness was in a surplus, again. They’re all nice and sweaty by now. >xD
What made it even better was a quick transition into ANOTHER of my favorite upbeat DBSK songs….
Rising Sun
Ahh… sugoi. This was such an incredible performance. I might be tempted to say it outdid the first two songs of the concert - the showmanship was that incredible.
It began with the little intro instrumental bit. The guys were up on stage doin’ their thing, while red spotlights flooded over them and then just a huge red and fiery display on their screens. How fitting - like a sunrise. B] Then when the instrumental BROKE into the faster-paced instrumental portion, slowly leading up to the beginning of the song, VERTICAL STREAMS OF CONFETTI ALL OVER THE STAGE shot up! It was so exciting, I wasn’t expecting that. <3 I was squealing with glee.
Here’s what I wasn’t expecting, but maybe should have figured: Rising Sun was sung in Korean. I’m accustomed to the Japanese version, for whatever reason I like its lyrics’ rhythm a lot better, even though essentially it’s the same. [like the music video more too] But what with a name like 3rd Asia Tour I was thinking that maybe they’d mix in some Japanese versions of their songs in. Nah. Not so far at least. Purple Line was also in Korean and I was so freakin’ confused as I tried to sing along. xD I don’t know why I didn’t just shut up and listen.
Anyway. Yunho once again seems to really be stealing the spotlight with his overabundance of charm. Not that I mind. It’s nice to see him look so into it and happy, sometimes I get the impression that he’s a bit… passive. I dunno, I haven’t been able to judge his personality well enough yet and my overall impression from what videos I have seen and what I kind of feel is that he seems a bit intimidating, but then again all hot guys are intimidating, right? xD Jae was at first until I found out how cute and shy and goofy he is/can be. Yunho gives off a bad-boy aura. >w< [shrug] Really don’t know him yet.
Anyway. A little annoying distraction that I caught notice of was one of their backup dancers - remind me why they even HAVE them again? DBSK is more than enough in my opinion - was wearing astonishly heavy eyeliner. I don’t mind guys who wear eyeliner but this guy’s eyes be poppin’. xD It was so distracting. He hovered in Yunho’s vicinity a lot so whenever the camera was positioned on Yunho I’d find my eyes drifting over to him and just ogling the man’s makeup. o__o <— like that
Dance moves were simpler and more relaxed, but still very hip. Judging from the fans’ screams at certain points - and I can distinguish between screams over Jae or the others and something else that’s going on - I feel like the choreography they used might be a popular one they’ve used for Rising Sun in the past. *shrug* I really don’t know. This is my first DBSK concert and also the first time I’m seeing Rising Sun outside the Japanese MV.
Still nice and sweaty. xD
Oh, and the confetti may actually be like sparks… it’s hard to tell. Throughout the performance, any time a big BANG in the instrumental or lyrics occurred, or the screaming “NOOO!” rang out, flames would shoot up on the display screens behind them and white sparks/confetti/? would blast up. So exciting! It gets to the point where you’re waiting for these moments to happen just for all these cool effects. x3
Micky killed it with his rapping and dancing. So powerful! I was getting goosebumps >O<
And then… the pivotal vocal belt-out from Changmin roughly halfway through…? I dunno. You should know what I mean. Instrumentals go pretty quiet and Changmin just belts out a “WHOAAAA” that totally blows me away every time.
Well they certainly up-played it here. x3 The dark fiery displays went shockingly bright-white and Max leapt to the forefront and did his thing.
<3
Afterwards he smiled cutely like he has throughout the show but this time I was like… Yeah. You smile. You deserve it, your voice is so f***ing amazing.
Bam, bam, bam, bam. More confetti/sparks shot up, everything went green. SLOWWW DOWNNN. Fun and interesting dancing from the guys, and I could SWEAR Micky did a “JAM JAM”. You’ll know what I’m talking about if you’ve seen episodes 3, 4 and/or 5 of the old, old 2006 KMTV Mission Impossible segments. xD Look them up if you don’t know what I’m talking about. Jaejoong’s episode showcases the “JAM JAM” pretty well. It’s like a little hand gesture… anyway. But yeah, I could swear Micky did it with one of his hands. And that cracked me up and really made me smile. I would like to believe he was doing a “JAM JAM”.
Yunho keeps getting hotter… And then A ROCK-N-ROLL BREAK-TIME! All of a sudden the song dies down and turns into some heavy drummin’ and guitar stuffz. I don’t think it’s any of their other songs, otherwise it would be listed as a medley within the song, right? So I’d like to think of it as a freakin’ sweet interlude to this performance of Rising Sun.
Yunho gets all scary-cool-rock-and-roll about this. Head-banging and everything, so dramatically too. Then POOF! All of a sudden the sparks/confetti make a return and Rising Sun picks up where it left off (?) and Changmin’s got another powerful vocal to sing.
More stunning choreography, Changmin and his voice bein’ awesome, showy effects on the screen and with that strange sparky-confetti, and then a glorious finale.
GOD THAT WAS AMAZING =D I wanna watch it over and over lol.
Fade out and then we get into the ballads, starting with…
Paradise
I’ll cover that in the next part! Au revoir, mes amis et fangirls de DBSK! [that grammar was all off, I just know it xD]
